Why the space program? you might ask. Well‚ I live close enough to Kennedy Space Center to watch a shuttle launch. The Night launches are most spectactular. To watch one on a clear night is something you never forget. Of course one launch I will never forget was the one where the Challenger exploded. I had watched many morning launches and myself and several co­workers were watching this one when the explosion occurred. I can’t tell you what a strange feeling came over all of us when we realized what was happening. I still strongly support the manned space program. I am not one of those people that think life must be risk free. If we are to continue to be the greatest country in the world‚ we must continue to take risk and move forward. The space program is a great example of that and I personally I don’t mind paying my tax dollars to keep the manned space program alive and hope it continues for years to come. </body> </html>
