I’m going to write something about the exploration of the planet Mars¸ I was reading in the newspaper the other day about the probe missions that NASA is planning to do¸ And it totally fascinates me how today we can build a robot‚ put it inside a rocket‚ launch it to space‚ land on another planet (millions of miles away) and still have control over it¸ These missions are amazing¸ These robots are actually going to make their own fuel on‚ at the planet‚ because they don’t want the robot to weigh to much before it lands¸ Can you imagine if they do discover somekind of intellegent being out there¸ What are we going to do than? Of course they are going to do some kind of scientific experiments on them¸ But what I really don’t get is why are we spending so much money on space projects‚ when we have so much scientific research that needs funding here on the Earth¸ Don’t get me wrong‚ I really think that we should explore the space‚ but I think first we should finish exploring our own planet¸ NASA is planning to spend over 400 billion dollars on the Mars Program over the next 20 years¸ That’s 20 billion a year¸ Can you imagine if they gave half of this to do AIDS‚ Alzeimer‚ Cancer research‚ I think that this money will be well spent‚ don’t you?
