I had not considered writing on this topic but this might be a good
opportunity for airing out an idea¸ The topic is "Homework"¸
I believe homework is an injustice to our children and ourselves¸
Having to spend personal time on someone elses priorities
rather than on our own is detrimental to selfdevelopment¸ It begins
by conditioning our children to bring school work home¸ Its reinforced
by parents who bring work home and help children with their homework¸
Before you know it you have an adult that has become a workaholic and
the majority of their selfesteem is derived from job performance¸
Homework should be just that home work¸ Cleaning up building a bird
feeder cooking etc¸¸¸ Then time should be set aside for personal
development¸ Perhaps reading a book of choice a movie writing
painting composing anything that causes the juices to flow creatively¸
What we have created is a time crunch on ourselves and our children¸
After our daily toil we bring more work home then do our home
maintenance and then if were not too tired something for ourselves¸
I say do your eight hours of labor and no more¸ Steal every moment you
possibly can for yourself and your family¸
