WHats wrong with America today? Ill tell you Franklin Delano Roosevelt¸ When the country was first founded our founding fathers never predicted the power which government was soon to yield¸ They foresaw as was common at the time of Adam Smiths WEALTH OF NATIONS that government would be run in a laizefaire style or hands off government¸¸ What this meant was that citizens were expected to know how to run their own lives best and the purpose of the US government was to provide for the common defense and to perform duties of international diplomacy¸ It was not until FDR and his Keynesian flunkies came along and decided that the world was in a great depression because people left to their own devices could not properly manage their own lives¸ He and others felt that government should step in and fill the roll¸ Though many believe that it was due to FDRs economic medeling which brought us out of the great depression it was actually WWII which was able to mobilize the US towards a singular goal¸ If one were to look back they would find that during FDRs administration we actually fell onto HARDER economic times due to Keynesian philosophy¸ (Note: the Great Depression was not caused by the stock market crash but due to the increasing tariffs and heavy protectionist politics that occured world wide which also helped foster the start of WWII¸)
