Has anyone read Franz Kafkas the trial recently¸ I was reading
it recently and it occured to me that the problems that he had dealing
with the court were very similar to the problems that one has dealing
with the court in America¸ The interminable run arounds the endless
stream of clerks who only have pieces of information but no picture
of the whole process¸ A bunch of people who know whats "not my job"¸
It is too bad that Kafka didnt live to publish his work otherwise we
would have some of the original discussion on what he intended his work
to be representative of¸ Living in California you are even more aware
of how oppressive the legal system is¸ Some cities seem to have such a
high concentration of police for no particular reason¸ Their crime
rates are low¸ And the police harass people for minor infractions¸
I know that it is a wish which will never be satisfied but it would
be nice for someone to overhall the justice system and make it a few
simple precepts and then let tradition and precedence establish how it
should be interpreted¸ You know what that is what they started out with
and this is where we are today¸ It just goes to show that the solutions
to our problems are not so straightforward¸
