One of the things I love most about the Internet is the ability to
send emails and other communication to people in other countries¸
I am writing from the land downunder Australia !! The preconceptions
many have of Australia are usually met with a great deal of laughter here¸
I have known people overseas who expect to see kangaroos and
koalos roaming down the main streets of every town !! I must admit
I dont help things myself as I myself am very much like the stereotypes¸
I use the greeting "Gday" heaps and call everyone "mate" even when
speaking to women !! The Aussie image is well founded I believe as
friendliness and "mateship" is definately a big part of life here¸
Although I must confess that I have never been overseas myself so
if I go overseas I would hate to imagine my own reactions when
my preconceptions of other countries and people get a dose of
harsh reality !!
