Frankly I’m a bit ambivilant about the whole topic ­ Freedom of the press‚ airwaves‚ internet is a noble tradition ­ As an adult I enjoy looking at pictures of women and men clothed and not¸ As the parent of children ( and having been one in the not too distant past ) I feel uneasy about the tremendous ease of access for sexually charged pictures that are removed from the context of emotion and feelings ­ The depersonalization of women‚ sex and relations ( not nessesarily in that order ) will not go down as our proudest moment in American society ) I especially dislike the trend towards violence images towards people of any kind¸ Certainly thinking adults and children can separate fact from fantasy ­ comics strips and cartoons from the real world¸ However the enourmous barage of images and suggestion from the media of all sorts implys a truth‚ an okness by sheer volume ­ that coupled with the idea that if you have a modesty‚ ethical‚ moral or (gasp ) religious adversion to explicit sex ­ your’re some sort of Victorian sexual thought police¸
