I read an article in the comments page citing Singapore as a place where free speech is being controlled¸ This is not entirely true¸ Singapore has the lowest sex related crime rate in the world and there is a price to it¸ The writer may have been misled by short articles published when Singapore campained against child pornography in the internet¸ As we all can see the whole world is against pornography but at varying degrees¸ Traditionally‚ Asian moral values are more stringent than Western cultures¸ Muslim societies even put people in jail or whip their citizens if men and women (unmarried) are found in close "promimity"¸ At least we got the guts to admit that excessive sexual content is not desireable and would erode our traditional culture and moral values¸ 99 percent of Singaoreans have been overseas holidays and have seen XXX in all forms and shapes¸ We do not arrest people who view such material; we are against liberal distribution; which will ensure that eventually school children will be tuoting such products on the streets¸ Control is necessary; the question is how is it to be implemented¸
