It was september 9th 1990 and I was a used car salesman in Lafayette Indiania and a drinkin man. This night in September I had stopped for a few drinks and got drunk. I was trying to light a bowl of primo hashish and the car swerved. A state trooper saw me swerve and stopped me for a sobriety check. I got out of the car an proceede to fail the sobriey test‚ I asked the officer if I could just turn my car off and lock the doors he said yes. I took that oppurtunity to jump back in the car and speed off. A high speed chase insused that reached speeds in exces of 100 miles per hour. In my drunken state I got confused as to where I was on the road‚ I traveled the road daily‚ and thought i was where a road joined the road I was on. Needless to sya there was no road thre only a 60 foot cliff and flew off there at 105 miles per hour. I spent the next four months in the hospital with one third of my body burned to the bone. I have had 45 operations since then. I have lost my right little finger and the lower portion of my left leg and now am forced to wear a fake leg there. The little finger is goone and I have learnd to work around that. Needless to say I am sober since the wreck and have learned to adjust my life to fit my special needs. The best part of the ordeal was that I have now gained control of my life over booze and enjoy each and every day as a sober man.
