Don’t Sweat the Small Stuff The best lesson my wife and I learned was at a friend’s house a few years ago. At that time they had 3 kids under 6 years old who were always in motion. When you went to their house‚ things were always somewhat disorganized but our two friends never appeared too upset and always had a great attitude toward the kids and life in general. There were always stories about how they painted the hall carpeting or brought the hose in the back door to water the den‚ but we were at their house at the time of this event and remember it every time our kids do something dumb. Their mom stopped in mid­conversation and took a minute to look at them. She then said‚ "Boys‚ I told you last time to stay out of dad’s spray paint. If you do this again‚ I’ll need to put it up." She then went back to our discussion and the boys went back to their room to play.
